Dr. Shih currently serves as the HKUMed Director of Student Affairs and helps coordinate the faculty’s academic advising, student wellness and admission outreach programmes. He was also appointed the programme director of the MBBS Enrichment Year Programme. On a department level, Dr. Shih serves as the coordinator for undergraduate ophthalmology teaching. Last year, during the pandemic, Dr. Shih translated ophthalmic clinical skills teaching to the ‘webside’. The adaptation was described in detail in a recent publication in Medical Education, a leading journal in Education, Scientific Disciplines.
