李啟煌教授

Since 2009, Professor Li has been Chief of Service and Consultant of the Department of Ophthalmology at the United Christian Hospital and Tseung Kwan O Hospital, all under the umbrella of the Hospital Authority.

自2009年以來，李啟煌教授一直擔任醫院管理局轄下九龍東醫院聯網基督教聯合醫院及將軍澳醫院眼科部門的部門主管和顧問醫生。

Professor Li has been instrumental in introducing high volume cataract surgery to the Hospital Authority. He led his team, Kowloon East Cataract Consortium, to successfully reduce the cataract waiting time from 10 years to 1 year. Thus in 2013, Professor Li and his team were recognized for their tremendous effort in raising the efficiency, quality and safety of cataract service. They were awarded 2013 Hospital Authority Outstanding Team Award and also Excellence in Patient Safety Award by the Medical Protection Society and Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. In the past few years, his team developed their own framework of sustainability for ophthalmology in Hong Kong that successfully tackled surging clinical demands in ophthalmic care while also embracing environmental protection. As a result, Professor Li and his team were awarded Hospital Authority Outstanding Team Award for the second time in 2023.

李教授是引入高流量白內障手術模式到醫院管理局的先驅。他領導的九龍東白內障醫療團隊，成功地將白內障手術的輪候時間從10年大幅減少至1年，因此李教授和他的團隊在2013年，在提高白內障服務的效率、質量及安全性的成果受到表揚。他們獲得了2013年醫院管理局傑出團隊獎，並在同年得到由香港醫學專科學院和醫療保障協會共同頒發的傑出病人安全獎。最近幾年，李教授領導他的團隊自行發展出一套可持續性眼科服務框架，成功地應對日益增加的眼科臨床服務需求，並同時積極響應環境保護。因此，李教授領導的九龍東延續未來眼科團隊在2023年再次獲得醫院管理局傑出團隊獎。

Academically, Professor Li has published extensively in the field of vitreoretinal diseases, with over 110 publications in indexed peer-reviewed journals and over 50 presentations at international meetings. He is serving on two editorial boards and a reviewer for 22 international journals. In 2015, he was awarded Achievement Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology in recognition of his work and dedication in academic research. In 2018, he was awarded Distinguished Service Award by the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology for his exemplary clinical service in the Asia Pacific region.

李教授在視網膜疾病的研究領域有豐富的學術發表成果。他在經過同行評審的醫學期刊上發表了超過110篇論文，並在國際眼科會議上發表了超過50次演講。他是兩個醫學期刊的編輯委員會成員，並為22個國際醫學期刊擔任評審員。2015年，他獲美國眼科學院頒發成就獎，以表揚他在學術研究的工作和貢獻。2018年，他獲亞太眼科學院頒發卓越服務獎，以表揚他在亞太地區的優秀臨床服務。

Professor Li is enthusiastic in contributing to the local visually impaired community. He serves as Honorary Medical Advisor and Council Member of the Hong Kong Society for the Blind, on the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association, and as a visiting consultant of the Lifeline Express of China.

除了臨床工作和科學研究外，李教授亦熱衷參與本地視障組織的義務工作。他現擔任香港盲人輔導會的義務醫務顧問和理事、香港導盲犬協會的管治協會成員，以及中國健康快車的客席顧問。
